The Patriots locked in the 281 Conference Regular season title by sweeping the Sanborn Central-Woonsocket Blackhawks in straight sets on Tuesday night. Set scores were 25-17, 25-11, and 25-19.
In all three sets, the Patriots used a variety of hits, some aggressive serving, and came up with some big blocks as they controlled all three sets in relatively easy fashion.
Leading the way for the Patriots was Katelyn Schroeder with 14 kills. Cora Hofer had a nice game at the net and recorded 5 kills. Lila Johnson came up with 4 kills. Isabel Gilbert, Ella Johnson, and Rebecca Huizenga rounded out the scoring with 3 kills each.
The Patriots recorded 9 aces on the night. Four different players each recorded 2 aces each to lead the way.
Lila Johnson recorded 19 assists and Gracyn Bixler followed with 11.
The back row did a tremendous job on passing the ball and playing defense. Cambree Hoekman led the team with 24 digs. The net play also came in huge as the Patriots had 14 block assists and a block solo. Gilbert would lead the team with 1 solo block and 6 block assists. Hofer would be right behind with 5 block assists.
The Jr. High and JV both dropped their matches earlier in the night.
The Patriots improved to 26-2 on the year. They will be right back in action on Friday night in Tulare as they will host the Sully Buttes Chargers for parents night. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. with the JV starting the night off.
