The Patriots moved to 14-0 with a 3-0 match win over the Sharks of Iroquois-Lake Preston.
In a three sets, the Patriots used a variety of aggressive serving, some great passing, big blocks, and hard hits to take care of the Sharks by set scores or 25-9, 25-11, and 25-6.
Offensively, the Patriots were led by Katelyn Schroeder with 18 kills. Cora Hofer had a nice game at the net and ended with 6 kills. Rebecca Huizenga and Ella Johnson also chipped in 5 kills each. Lila Johnson dished out 21 assists and Gracyn Bixler followed with 8.
The Patriots tallied 10 aces in the match. Isabel Gilbert went 30-30 serving with 5 aces. Lila Johnson also recorded 2 aces.
The back row had a nice game with some spot on passing and great defense. Cambree Hoekman tallied a team high 12 digs and Avarie Estey was one off with 11 digs.
The front line continues to play big as Gilbert and Schroeder recorded 2 block assists.
To start the night out, the Jr. High lost in three to the Sharks by set scores of 21-25, 25-11, and 12-15. In the JV match, the ladies swept the Sharks in two, 25-12, 25-17.
The varsity team will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Sioux Falls, to take part in the Sandford Pentagon Invitational. First match will be at 8:00 a.m. against Hanson. They will then follow the day by playing Freeman at 10:30 a.m. and Mount Vernon-Plankinton at 1:00 p.m. If you can make it to Sioux Falls to support the team, we would greatly appreciate it.
